My Human!Stuck headcanon for Karkat is that he’s an albino for numerous reasons: 
1. He needs something about himself that he can hate, other than his personality, that sets him apart from most people. 
2. Albinism is considered a mutation. 
3. He needs something to hide and be sensitive about.

He dyes his hair to a brown-ish black to hide his white hair, as for his eyebrows he tries to keep his bangs covering them or he’ll go to his gal pal, Kanaya, and she’ll dye his eyebrows.
He detests sunglasses (mostly because of Sollux and Dave) so he tries to pass his eyes off as contacts or he’ll wear contacts to hide the color. Mostly he does the latter though because he only goes out without his contacts when he needs new ones or misplaced them, his colored contacts are also prescription because his eyesight is terrible (a common problem for people with Albinism). 
His contacts are brown because he wants to look normal and draw the least amount of attention to himself. Also brown is a good dark color that helps keep light from irritating his iris.
He’s a part-time photographer ironically and regardless of his photophobia (a sensitivity to light that may, and will, damage your eyes.). He’s also an aspiring director that writes screen-plays and scripts. When he’s not wearing his contacts he’s wearing his glasses which are actually really strong but he paid his optometrist good money to make them look like reading glasses.
